Did you know that your right to be listened to and taken seriously is recognised in an International human rights treaty called the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (or the UNCRC for short)?

Article 12 of the UNCRC says that it is your human right to have your opinions considered when people make decisions about things that involve you. It also says you should be given the info you need to make good decisions. So your right to be involved in decisions made about you at school is an internationally recognised human right!

This is just one of a list of rights you have. Rights are like promises to keep you safe, look after you and treat you fairly. Find out more about your rights from the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland.
