Worrying about stuff happening at home can make going to school tough.
But telling somebody, like your guidance teacher or another teacher you get on with, might be the start of things getting better for you. They should listen to you and help you think about what support you need to make school easier to cope with.
Things that might help:
- knowing there is someone to talk to if you need to
- having a place in school you can go to if you need space or quiet
- advice on getting help with what’s going on at home
- extra time to do homework or class work.
Remember whoever you tell must keep it private unless they are worried about your safety or you say it’s ok to tell someone else who can help you.
