Children & Young People’s Commissioner

Scotland has a new Children & Young People’s Commissioner.

The role of the Children & Young People’s Commissioner Scotland (CYPCS) is to work with others to improve the lives of children and young people.

It is their job to help children and young people in Scotland understand their rights, and make sure they are respected.

Bruce Adamson was CYPCS from 2017 to 2023. This is because the role of CYPCS is limited to 6 years. After this time, the Scottish Parliament appoints a new person.
