My Say:

A film about being bullied for having problems reading

Check out this film called Judged, by I am me Scotland. It’s one girl’s story of what it’s like to have dyslexia and be bullied about reading aloud in class.“I was always scared I would get picked. You see, being dyslexic doesn’t mean I’m stupid. I’m actually really clever…it just means that some things are difficult for me. Like when I used to read a book it was like the words were jumping all over the place. I couldn’t get them to stop moving…..”

After Chloe’s teacher realises she needs extra help at school, it’s the start of things getting better for her – “My dad doesn’t think I’m lazy anymore. My teachers encourage me. My friends help me instead of laughing at me”.
